Knight Named Women’s Basketball Academic All-District

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern senior Anna Claire Knight has been named to the Capital One Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced today.
Knight now advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced at the end of February.
Knight, who carries a 3.82 grade point average in sports management, is averaging 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists a game through 20 contests this season. She has 1,232 career points, 516 rebounds and 170 assists in 109 games and was recently named one of 30 candidates in the country for the Senior Class Award, which honors seniors who have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.
The Eagles are back on the hardwood Saturday when they play host to ULM at 4:30 p.m. in Hanner Fieldhouse. It's Georgia Southern's 10th annual Pack the House in Pink, an event designed to raise awareness about breast cancer as well as honor the memory of those lives lost from the disease.
