Women's Tennis Travels To Florida For Two Matches

Statesboro, Ga. –  The Eagles continue their pursuit of perfection as they take their 3-0 record on the road for two matches in Florida.  On Friday Feb. 6th Stetson will be the opponent with a match in Deland, Florida beginning at 2 p.m.  The Eagles will stay in Deland for a match against Florida Atlantic on Saturday February 7th at 10:30 a.m.

Serving It Up
•    The Eagles remain perfect on the season (3-0) with wins over Alabama State (6-1), Mercer (5-2), and       SCAD (7-0).
•    In their previous match, Mary Phillips Smith battled from being down 5-1 in set two to take the set 7-       5.
•    Coach Stanford continues to applaud her team for sticking with their aggressive game styles.
•    The Hatters of Stetson Univeristy are 2-1 and coming off a 8-1 win over Northwood
•    Florida Atlantic defeated St. Petersburg College 7-0 in their first match of the season.


Coach Stanford's Thoughts
"So far, the team has done a great job staying focused and keeping the energy up in every match. It has been very exciting to see us get off to such a great start this season. We will have some great opportunities this weekend against Stetson and FAU. If the team continues to battle like we have thus far, then we should be able to return to GSU with some great results."
