Women's Tennis Adds Two for Spring Season

Emilia Bujan and Lindsay Truscott to join the team in January
STATESBORO, Ga.- The Georgia Southern women's tennis team adds two new members to its roster this spring season. Both international recruits, Maria Emilia Bujan and Lindsay Truscott, are slated to start practicing in January.
"We are very excited to announce that Emilia and Lindsay will be joining our team this season," head coach Michele Stanford said. "It is clear that our current team values strong academics, relationships with teammates, and being successful both on and off of the court. Because Emilia and Lindsay are such well-rounded individuals with similar values, I know that they will be a great fit within our program and University."
Bujan joins Eagle Nation from Argentina and Truscott journeys over from South Africa to mark six international players on the team. The other Eagles on the team, Mary Phillips Smith and Shannon Wagner, are both natives of Florida. But Stanford said that international players gives the team depth, as each brings a unique skillset to the court, including the two newest members.
"They each have a very strong tennis background, and I know that they will make a significant contribution to our team this season. Their different styles of play will allow much greater depth in our line-up and be a very nice addition prior to Sun Belt competition," Stanford said. "As a coach, I am looking forward to spending time with them on court, watching them compete, and helping their games to improve with each passing season. We are currently scheduled to have a couple weeks of training prior to our first competition, and I know that these two are more than ready to leave their mark here as a Georgia Southern Eagle!"
