STATESBORO, Ga.– Georgia Southern Men's Soccer opens league play this weekend with a trip to face Hartwick in Oneonta, N.Y. The trip is the program's first visit to The Empire State as Georgia Southern looks to avenge a 1-0 loss to the Hawks in last year's Sun Belt Championship Game.

ABOUT HARTWICKHartwick is entering its second season in the Sun Belt as an associate member for Men's Soccer. The Hawks compete in 17 intercollegiate sports, primarily at the NCAA Division III level. Hartwick sponsors two NCAA Division I sports with Men's Soccer and Women's Water Polo competing at the highest collegiate level. With 1,500 students, Hartwick is located in Oneonta, N.Y. in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains.
SCOUTING THE HAWKSAt an even 4-4-2 on the season Hartwick enters league play on a two-match skid, dropping consecutive outings to Albany and Bryant on the road. The Hawks defeated Cornell 2-0 at home on Sept. 23 as Jamie O'Grady scored one of his team-high six goals. The Hawks have scored 12 goals while conceding 13.
NEXT UPThe Eagles are back home on Tuesday night for the first home match in more than a month. Kickoff against Jacksonville University is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
