BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Ariana Macioce shot a 77 in the final round of the Fighting Camel Fall Classic at Keith Hills Golf Club Tuesday to finish fourth on the individual leaderboard.
It is the program's first top-5 finish as the Eagles played in their fourth tournament of their inaugural season. Georgia Southern placed 11th in the team standings in its final event of the fall season.
Macioce (+9) shot back-to-back 74s in the first two rounds and led the tournament field in par-4 scoring (+3) and total pars (37). The freshman was one stroke behind third-place finisher Annelie Sjoholm (+8) of Campbell. Mary Janiga (-1) of Mercer took medalist honors, and Campbell's Nadine White (+2) was second.
Campbell (+38) won its home tournament, and Old Dominion (+55) placed second. Ansley Bowman shot a 77, Iben Hvass posted an 80, Yeji Shin carded an 82 and Taylor Thompson finished with an 85 today.

Macioce played the front nine 2-over and parred her last three holes. She tallied 13 of her tournament-leading 37 pars in the round. Bowman and Shin had two birdies each to lead the team today. Bowman played her final 11 holes of the day 1-over, and Hvass played her final seven holes 1-over.
