WHAT HEAD COACH BRIAN DUNLEAVY SAID
On the 1-0 loss
"It's a tough loss to take; there's no way around it. We did enough to put ourselves in positions to score and we didn't. At the end of the day, they got an opportunity based on something that we could've done differently or handled the situation slightly better and allowed them back into the game when it was one-way traffic. It's a tough pill to swallow."
Ā
On his message to the team
"After the game I said the thing that separated us from the top two teams in this league is one goal and essentially we didn't do enough to get the result. We did enough to play really well. We did enough to feel good about our performances, but at the end of the day we just need results. I think we've played some really good soccer this weekend, and we've been terribly unlucky. Unfortunately, nobody cares if you're unlucky or not, it's about getting results and winning. For us we have to find a way to understand that this will continue if we don't take our chances when they come. We played 180 minutes of great soccer without a goal to show for it. That's tough."
Ā
On the away games this weekend
"We're going to have a tough challenge in that Appalachian State is a tough team to play especially at their place. It's a tough environment. They're a very high-energy, organized team that's well-coached and it's going to be a challenge for us. We have to do a good job of playing our game in a tough place to play. Followed up with a really long trip from there, across a time-zone and a completely different climate to play Texas State. I think the challenges lie in who we're playing and the way we have to go about playing."
