WHAT COACH BRIAN DUNLEAVY SAIDOn tonight's game"It was a tough opponent. Troy is very good defensively. We had a hard time getting it to our forwards; we had a hard time getting behind. That's a lot of credit to Troy, because I think they're a solid defensive team with an excellent coach, and they really do a good job of making life difficult for attacking teams. We didn't have the time and space to create a lot of chances. After they scored, I felt like we could've done a better job of continuing to play to our strengths. I think we got a little panicky and flat at the same time, which is a bad combination.
Â
If you look at their records so far, they're not scoring a ton of goals and they have 12 wins so obviously defensively this is the best team we've played so far. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't have the potency that we've had coming into this game, but I'll give some credit to Troy; they have the ability to defend a team such as ourselves."
Â
On playing the top conference team on Sunday"There's never an easy game in this league, so whether it's the top team, bottom team, whatever the case may be it's never easy. Our game plan is basically to play to our strengths, highlight some of the weaknesses of our opponent, look at their strengths and respect it and defend against it. They're a solid team, another well-coached team, and it's going to be a challenge for us but at the end of the day, we just need to get the points regardless of where they are on the table."
Â
NEXT UPThe team is back in action on Sunday at home for Senior Day when they go up against the top-ranked conference foe South Alabama. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at Eagle Field.
