STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Women's Soccer plays its first Sun Belt Conference contests this weekend with games at UL Monroe and UL Lafayette on Friday and Sunday. The contests will be the first meetings between the programs in series history. Friday's game against the Warhawks starts at 5 p.m. (ET).

WE'RE COMING HOME…
Georgia Southern returns to Eagle Field on October 3rd for the first home Sun Belt contest against Arkansas State. The Eagles will play four home Sun Belt games in the 2014 campaign and face UALR on October 5th at Eagle Field.

MERSON EARNS SHUTOUT RECORD
Against Arkansas State, Katie Merson inked her name in the Georgia Southern record books by breaking the school record with her 17th career shutout. She also helped our offensively, earning her first offensive assist on Jennifer Wittick's goal to put the Eagles 3-0 up.

FIRST BIG TEN WIN
Georgia Southern Women's Soccer captured its first win over a Big Ten Conference foe with a 2-1 victory over Indiana in the second week of the season. Melinda Lukas scored two goals in the victory with marks in the fifth and 21st minutes.

GATA GAME SET FOR OCT. 24
The 2014 Women's Soccer GATA Game is set for October 24th against Texas State. The marquee contest is a chance for all Georgia Southern student-athletes to come together and support each other.
