Falle Named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week

Eagle netminder captures his first weekly award
NEW ORLEANS – Eagle Men's Soccer Goalkeeper Jack Falle has been named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the opening week of the 2014 season. The junior goalkeeper went 1-1 to open the season and win Georgia Southern's first men's soccer award.
Falle made six saves in the season opener against Gardner-Webb to pick up the season-opening victory. He allowed an 82nd minute goal and faced 13 shots in the season-opener. In Sunday's second game of the weekend, Falle made nine saves against 26 shots by the Winthrop offense.
The Eagles open the 2014 home schedule on Thursday night against Mercer. Admission is free for the 7 p.m. game against the Bears which can be seen live on GS All-Access from GSEagles.com.
