STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Women's Soccer looks to improve on a perfect 2-0 start this weekend with a pair of games in the Auburn Soccer Classic. The Eagles open the weekend with a neutral site game against Indiana in "The Loveliest Village on the Plains" on Friday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. The weekend continues on Sunday afternoon when the Eagles face Auburn in a game that can be seen on SECNetwork+.

Merson Earns Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week
Redshirt senior Katie Merson became the first Eagle to win a Sun Belt Conference award earlier this week when she was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week following a shutout victory last Sunday over UNC Wilmington. The 2-0 start extended Merson's seven-game unbeaten run against teams from outside the power five conferences.
 
Alumni Weekend Coming Up
Georgia Southern's 2014 Alumni Weekend is set for September 5th. The Eagles face Mercer as a part of the weekend.
 
Sun Belt Play: Coming Soon
Georgia Southern's inaugural season in the Sun Belt Conference features four home games beginning on October 3rd when Arkansas State comes to town. Two days later the Eagles will face Arkansas Little Rock at the friendly confines.
 
GATA Game set for October 24th
The 2014 Women's Soccer GATA Game is set for October 24th against Texas State. The marquee contest is a chance for all Georgia Southern student-athletes to come together and support each other.
