Men’s Soccer Travels to Start 2014 Season

Eagles face Gardner-Webb and Winthrop this weekend


STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Men's Soccer opens the 2014 season with an appearance in the 2014 SoCon/Big South Challenge. The opening weekend of the season takes the Eagles to Boiling Springs, N.C. for a pair of games against Gardner-Webb and Winthrop of the Big South Conference. Both games can be seen on BigSouthSports.com

2014 Media Guide Now Available

Home Opener on September 4th
The Eagles come home for the first time in 2014 on September 4th when Mercer comes to Eagle Field. The 7 p.m. game against the Bears is the first of six regular season home matches with three league contests scheduled for the friendly confines.
 
Tournament Time in Statesboro
Along with joining a new conference, Georgia Southern Men's Soccer will have another first in November of 2014 when the Eagles host the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. It will be the first time that the Eagles have hosted a postseason men's soccer tournament at Eagle Field.
 
Hello Newcomers
The 2014 Eagles feature 11 newcomers including two junior transfers. Two of the newcomers have an international pedigree. Thor Sveinbjornsson is a freshman midfielder from Iceland while Pierre-Alain Andreoli was born in Paris before coming to the United States for his high school years.

The 2014 Men's Soccer GATA Game is set for October 18th against Sun Belt foe Howard. The marquee contest is a chance for all Georgia Southern student-athletes to come together and support each other.
