STATESBORO, Ga. – The Eagle women's basketball program beat the South Georgia heat last week by participating in Chillin' 4 Charity, a national contest to benefit the Kay Yow Foundation, helping raise awareness for breast cancer and funds for research to fight the disease.
The rules are simple. A coach calls you out before they receive an ice water shower. You then have 48 hours to respond by taking on the cold water challenge yourself. Head coaches that fail to do so owe the Kay Yow Foundation $250, and assistants owe $100. If a coach answers the bell, the challenging head coach owes $50 and assistants owe $25.
Eagle coaches Lisa Jackson, Chris Vozab and Chris Gillett completed the challenge, and among her callouts, Jackson threw down the gauntlet to Georgia Southern Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein.
