STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Softball is back on the road this weekend for a pair of games in the Tar Heel State against Alabama and North Carolina at UNC's Anderson Softball Stadium. The Eagles, who reached the 30-win plateau on Wednesday evening will take on the No. 6/7 ranked Crimson Tide on Friday afternoon at 3:30. Saturday's 2:30 p.m. contest against the Tar Heels is a rematch of the opening game of the 2012 NCAA Tournament Athens Regional where the Eagles dropped an extra innings defeat to UNC.

30+ WINS PLATEAUFor the third-straight season and the 10th time in program history, Georgia Southern Softball has reached the 30-wins plateau. The Eagles have had four seasons with 30+ wins in the last five years. In 2012 the Eagles set the school record for wins in a single season with a 42-20 record.
PURVIS WORKING ON BREAKING HER OWN RECORDSenior pitcher
Sarah Purvis is closing in on re-setting the Georgia Southern single-season strikeouts record. Purvis set the school record in 2012 with 253 strikeouts. Currently Purvis has 210 strikeouts for the season. Over her last eight appearances, Purvis has recorded six games with 10+ strikeouts.
EAGLES BACK AT HOME NEXT WEEKENDGeorgia Southern is back at home for Senior Weekend 2014 against Chattanooga on April 26th and 27th. There will be a pregame ceremony before Sunday's series finale to honor the Eagles' seven seniors.
