STATESBORO, GA- Georgia Southern men's tennis hits the courts at home on Friday, March 7th, at 2:30pm to face SoCon opponent Davidson. On Sunday, March 9th, the Eagles host UNCG , also at the Wallis Tennis Center. Sunday's match, starting at 12pm, is a GATA game (all GSU athletes and coaches are scheduled to attend). This weekend's matches mark the first two of seven home matches in a row.
"We've been on the road for a long while now, so we are really looking forward to getting back on our home courts," said head coach Nick Zieziula. "We learned a lot last weekend in our conference openers and we need to bring those lessons through to two more big conference matches. We left the courts with a lot of confidence after beating Wofford, but regardless of the last outcome, every match starts from 0-0."
The Eagles are currently 1-1 in SoCon play and 2-9 overall. Davidson holds a 3-8 overall record, and enters SoCon play against the Eagles on Friday. UNCG boasts a 6-2 overall record and are undefeated in the SoCon so far, 1-0.
Last time out, the Eagles defeated Wofford in a close match, 4-3. GSU failed to earn the doubles point, but secured 4 singles wins from Marco Osorio, Oliver Webb, Rafael Racy, and Kyle Hoffman.
Results from this weekend's matches will be posted on GSEagles.com shortly after completion.
