STATESBORO, GA.- Georgia Southern men's tennis hosted UNC Greensboro Sunday, March 9th at the Wallis Tennis Center. The Eagles fell 0-7 to the Spartans. GSU holds an overall record of 3-10, and 2-2 in SoCon play.
Doubles competition opened the match, and the Eagles played some close sets but were unable to secure any wins. The Spartans entered singles play with a 1-0 advantage.
Oliver Webb was defeated in the No. 1 spot by James Dougherty, 7-6, 6-3. At No. 2 singles, Albert Codina Sala lost to Randy Phillips, 6-4, 6-3. Kyle Hoffman played tough at the No. 3 spot, but fell to Gaston Murray, 6-0, 6-3. The Spartans took three more singles wins to finish the match 7-0.
The Eagles host Gardner-Webb on Thursday, March 13th at the Wallis Tennis Center.
