Sarah Purvis Named SoCon Pitcher of the Week

Senior hurler tosses fourth career no-hitter in a 2-0 week in the circle
STATESBORO, Ga. – With two outstanding performances in the pitching circle, Sarah Purvis has earned her third SoCon Pitcher of the Week honor of the season this week. The Warner-Robins native tossed her fourth career no-hitter on Saturday against future Sun Belt foe Troy and added a two-hit shutout in the weekend finale versus Tennessee State.
The honor is Purvis' seventh weekly award, the most of any Georgia Southern pitcher.
On the week, Purvis tallied 24 total strikeouts with 12 in each appearance. She now leads the Southern Conference with 67 total strikeouts.
The Eagles are off to one of their best starts in program history with a 13-5 start to the season. The Eagles visit Kennesaw State on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.
