STORY LINES
- Georgia and Georgia Southern renew their rivalry with the sixth-straight game between the Eagles and Bulldogs. Wednesday's game will be the 26th contest overall as the Eagles look to snap a 16-game skid against the Bulldogs. Back in the fall, Georgia Southern and UGA split their off-season doubleheader with the Eagles winning 6-4 to open the day thanks to a five-run fifth inning.
- Georgia Southern Head Coach Annie Smith is on her way to becoming the fastest coach in Georgia Southern history to 100 wins. She enters the Elon series with a 96-60 career record.
- The Eagles are off to their best start in program history, setting new or matching records for 10 games (7-3) 20 games (15-5), 25 games (18-7) and 30 games (20-10).
- Wednesday's game will be the third contests this season for the Eagles against a ranked opponent. Georgia Southern has lost twice earlier this season to Tennessee.
