STORYLINES
- The Eagles play in their final SoCon home opening series this weekend against Elon. The Eagles are 26-11 all-time against the Phoenix and 15-3 at Eagle Field. GS has won six-straight contests in the series.
- Georgia Southern Head Coach Annie Smith is on her way to becoming the fastest coach in Georgia Southern history to 100 wins. She enters the Elon series with a 93-60 career record.
- The Eagles are off to their best start in program history, setting new records for 10 games (7-3) 20 games (15-5) and 25 games (18-7).
- Kaitlyn Johnson is a .500 career hitter against the Phoenix with a pair of doubles to her name. She leads all active Eagles against Elon.
- Sarah Purvis is 3-0 all-time against Elon with a 1.68 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 25.0 innings of work. Brooke Red is 1-0 in a 7.2 inning game versus Elon. She fanned 11 in the win to go 1-0 versus the Phoenix.
- Kourtny Thomas enters the weekend ranked third in the league in batting with a .383 average. She shares the league lead in home runs with Samford's Abby Adams on 10 four-baggers. Thomas leads the league with 29 RBIs.
- This will be the second-straight weekend that the Eagles have faced the one of the SoCon's top hitters. Last weekend GS faced UNCG's Katelyn Bedwell who leads the league with a .417 average. Emily Cameron leads Elon with a .397 mark entering the weekend

PROMOTIONS
- Saturday is Military Appreciation Day at Georgia Southern Softball with the Eagles honoring our nation's military members. It is also GATA Club Day with a special GATA Club tailgate for former student-athletes going on all-day Saturday.
- Sunday is Alumni Day with numerous Alumni of Eagle Softball coming back to the friendly confines for the day.
