Women's Tennis Drops 3-4 to UNCG

GREENSBORO, N.C.- Georgia Southern women's tennis played a close match with UNC Greensboro, but the Spartans took the victory, 4-3. The Eagles' record drops to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in the SoCon.

Taking all three doubles matches, the doubles point was awarded to the Spartans. In singles play,  Daria Vasekina was defeated by Kayla Gammie, 6-0, 6-2. Jordana Klein fell to Soumeya Anane, 6-1, 6-2. Stephanie Woods lost to Yasmin Franco, 7-5, 6-2. Mary Phillips Smith tallied GSU's first win of the match, defeating Amy Ellis 6-4, 7-6 (8-6). Paola Garrido was victorious over Stephanie Falcon, 6-1, 6-7 (8-10), 1-0 (10-3). Giulia Riepe snatched a win for the Eagles, beating Jamie Grinberg, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (11-9).

The Eagles hit the courts again on Wednesday, March 5th, at the Wallis Tennis Center against UNC Wilmington at 2:30pm.
