STATESBORO, GA.- Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving has been ranked #68 on Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com's Mid-Major Rankings. The Mid-Major rankings provide an objective point system to compare non-BCS programs and those that provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.
"This is a significant recognition for our program," said head coach Nathan Kellogg. "It is a direct result of the commitment and work our team has put in on a daily basis. I am excited for the direction we are headed."
The Eagles land 68th with 920.22 points, nestled right between Colorado State and Fresno State. In the fall, GSU was ranked 120th. San Diego State claims the #1 spot with 971.33 points.
The Eagles ended their 2013-14 season with a third place finish at the CCSA Championships. Eleven school records were broken and senior Kristen Bates clinched a NCAA B-cut time in the 100 Breaststroke event.
Georgia Southern Athletics provides up-to-date information on all its sports through its official website, GSEagles.com, through social media channels facebook.com/GSAthletics and twitter.com/GSAthletics, and its new "Eagles GATA" mobile app for Android and iOS.
