Sarah Purvis dominated Troy in Saturday's first game, tossing her fourth career no-hitter in the Eagles' 2-0 win over the Trojans. The Eagles win the season series 2-1 over the Trojans. Georgia Southern faces Middle Tennessee in Saturday's second game which starts at 6:15 p.m.
A walk in the fifth inning was all that stood between Purvis and a perfect game. She struck out 12 batters in the virtuoso performance. It is the first no-hitter for Purvis since she tossed a perfect game in the NCAA Tournament last season against Hampton.

Savanah Coon delivered the Eagles' first run of the game in the fifth inning, plating
Kaitlyn Johnson. GS scored again in the sixth when
Kourtny Thomas singled up the middle to drive in
Emily Snider from third.
Purvis improves to 5-2 on the season with her third shutout and seventh complete game.
Georgia Southern continues play in the Eagle Classic later on Saturday with a 6:15 contest against Middle Tennessee to close the second day of the tournament.
