
Swimming and Diving Senior Spotlight: Meg Beasley

STATESBORO, Ga.- Georgia Southern swimmer Meg Beasley has been a huge asset to the Eagles swimming program in her four years here. As a General Studies major, Meg has earned CCSA All-Academic status four years in a row. Meg has been a crucial component to the Eagles backstroke game, placing in the top 16 at the CCSA Championships in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events. Meg has been involved in ministry groups during her career here at Georgia Southern.
We asked Meg some questions about her time here:
1. What is one of the most memorable moments you've experienced during your swimming career here at Georgia Southern?
The Flamingo motel during winter training last year and a late night bus pit stop at South of the Border.
2. How did you become interested in swimming?
My brother joined swim team when I was 8 and my mom said "you can either get in and swim or just sit here while we wait for him to finish." I chose to swim.
3. What's the most valuable thing you've learned from your coaches?
A positive word can go a long way .
4. What's your favorite Georgia Southern tradition?
Freedom flying over the football field.
5. What are your career goals after college?
I am going to be missionary for at least 2 years after I graduate, hopefully now day I will end up building sustainable housing in urban slums.
