OFFENSE ROCKETTING ALONG
The Eagles are 9-4 on the year behind a .281 team batting average with seven players hitting over the .300 mark for the year. The offense has produced 60 runs, with 15 RBIs coming from Kourtny Thomas. The senior shortstop leads the Eagles with four home runs.

PITCHING STAFF IS DOING WORK…
The Georgia Southern pitching staff has limited opposing offenses to just 22 runs, 19 earned, with a team ERA of just 1.61. Sarah Purvis has fanned 43 batters in 39.0 innings and owns a 1.08 ERA. LAST WEEKEND
The Eagles played just four of the five games scheduled at the UF Lipton Invitational with the final day being erased due to rain. Georgia Southern tallied wins over Coastal Carolina, Troy and Indiana before dropping a 2-1 decision to Coastal in Saturday's second game. The weekend finale against No. 1 Florida was the casualty of the weekend when rain denied the upset bid.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Georgia Southern Softball heads to Kennesaw State on Wednesday for the first midweek game of the 2014 campaign. The Eagles swept a three-game set over the Owls last time the schools played in Suburban Atlanta. Next weekend the Eagles travel to the Tennessee Tournament in Knoxville to face Campbell, Holy Cross, Western Kentucky and Tennessee.
