KNOXVILLE, TN.- Georgia Southern swimming and diving earned third place at the CCSA Championships this past weekend at the University of Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatics Center. The Eagles finished with 423 points, right behind Florida Gulf Coast in second with 718.5 points, and Liberty University in first with 732.5. This is the third consecutive year that the Eagles have finished third at the CCSA's.
"I am extremely proud of our team's collective effort and performance," said head coach Nathan Kellogg. "We set 11 school records, recorded an NCAA B cut, and had 10 All-CCSA performers. This has been a special group of hard working, focused, and determined women who I have been fortunate to coach."
Senior Kristen Bates was able to secure a second place finish in the 100 Breaststroke in the A-Finals on Saturday evening. She notched a NCAA B-cut time of 1:00.98, beating her preliminary time of 1:01.52.
Eleven GSU records were broken over the course of the weekend. An updated list of school records will be posted on GSEagles.com shortly.
