Hix Named Sun Belt Player of the Week by College Sports Madness

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern women's basketball guard Abby Hix has been named College Sports Madness Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for her performance in the Gator Holiday Classic Dec. 21-22.
Hix earned all-tournament honors after averaging 15 points and hitting eight 3-pointers in two contests, leading the Eagles to a 1-1 record and a victory in the consolation contest. The freshman is averaging 5.8 points for the season and is second on the team in 3-point percentage with a 39.1 percent mark from behind the arc.
The Eagles return to action Dec. 30 when they play the first Sun Belt Conference game in program history at UT Arlington. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. (Eastern).
