Division I Rankings
Statesboro, Ga. –  The Georgia Southern Women's Soccer team concluded its 2014 season ranked 74th in the national RPI rankings.  The Rating Percentage Index is a mathematical system based on several factors and is used in many sports sponsored by the NCAA.  Numbers of games teams have won, lost and tied relative to their strength of schedule and opponent's winning percentages are all calculated.
The Eagles cracked the top-75 this season by finishing the year ranked 74th. Â Just one year ago, the Eagles finished 236th among all Division I Women's Soccer programs. Â In a single season, the Eagles improved 162 spots.
"Finishing the season in the top 75 RPI, is a nice benchmark for our program," said Head Coach
Brian Dunleavy. "It's a testament to the commitment our student athletes have to developing as individuals and continually striving to improve. As a coaching staff, we want to put together a non-conference schedule that will challenge our players and further enhance Georgia Southern's national identity. We've come a long way in a short time, but we need to continue improving in all facets of the game in order to keep moving forward as a program."Â
The Eagles concluded the season with a mark of 11-6-2 (5-3-1 SBC) which is their best finish since the 2002 campaign. Â
