
Men’s and Women’s Soccer Earn NSCAA Team Academic Awards

Georgia Southern one of 198 schools to earn awards for both men’s and women’s programs
STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Men's and Women's Soccer had successful seasons on the field in 2014, both programs were recently recognized for their success off the field by earning the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's team Academic Awards. Eagles Men's Soccer recorded a 3.14 team GPA while the Women's Soccer had a 3.40 team GPA. Georgia Southern is one of 198 programs nationwide to earn awards for both teams.
Sun Belt Men's Soccer saw five of the league's six teams earn the award this season as Coach Kennedy's squad went 8-9 while reaching the Sun Belt Championship Final. The Eagles were 3-2 in regular season conference play, and took a 2-1 win over Georgia State in the Tournament semifinal.
Eagle Women's Soccer went 11-6-2 in Coach Dunleavy's second season including an unbeaten 5-0-2 record at Eagle Field. The Eagles finished fourth in the Sun Belt standings, taking a 1-0 win over Appalachian State in the tournament Quarterfinals.
