CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Georgia Southern women's rifle team competed in the small bore discipline for the first time in program history and shot a 4186 at SEARC #2.
The Eagles finished in sixth place ahead of The Citadel's women's team. GSU shot a score of 2211 in air rifle and 1975 in small bore.Â
The Eagles posted a pair of season highs in air rifle.
Ale Shortridge bested her previous best of 536 and shot a 540, while
Jennifer Middlebrook shot a season high with a score of 535.Â
Kathryn Youngblood led GSU in air rifle with a score of 561.
Becky Collier finished second on the team and nearly matched her season high with a score of 557.
Emmy Johnson and
Tori Lewis rounded out air rifle competition with scores of 548 and 545, respectively.
In small bore Youngblood led the team with a score of 512, while Lewis finished second with a score of 497. Johnson and Shortridge rounded out the counters for GSU and shot 494 and 472, respectively.
Rifle returns to action November 1 at SEARC #3 in Dahlonega, Ga.
