NCAA SCORECARD

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The fifth-ranked Georgia Southern rifle team picked up a pair of wins on the opening weekend of the season, taking down #12 Ohio State and Mount Aloysius with a 4,724 aggregate score Saturday.

In smallbore, sophomore Emme Walrath led the way with a 589 as the Eagles posted a 2,338. Zahra Gonzalez Mazo took third with a 585 and Emma Pohlmann placed fourth with a 584. Bremen Butler took sixth with a 580 and Tori Watts was eighth with a 578. Freshman Matilda Eylanda and sophomore Hailey Singleton both shot 571s.

In air rifle, Walrath again led the way, shooting a 598 as the Eagles shot a 2,386. Pohlmann and Butler both posted 597s to take second and third, respectively, while Watts shot a 594 to finish fourth. Gonzalez Mazo placed seventh with a 592 and Eylander shot a 591 in her first collegiate match to take ninth. Singleton posted a 584 in her opening match of the weekend.

Six of the seven Eagles who shot Saturday finished in the top 10 in aggregate, led by Walrath with a 1,187. Pohlmann (1,181; 2nd), Butler (1,177; 4th), Gonzalez Mazo (1,177; 5th), Watts (1,172; 6th) and Eylander (1,162; 10th) all finished in the top 10.
