Georgia Southern returns to conference action riding a four-match win streak and has won its last three Sun Belt contests. The Eagles travel to UT Arlington and Texas State this weekend.

The Eagles have won seven straight and 16 of their last 17 matches in Hanner Fieldhouse (the Eagles played their first four home matches this season at Statesboro High School because Hanner was being renovated).

Eagle senior Jamie DeRatt needs 119 kills and 146 digs to reach 1,000 for her career. Senior Kym Coley is 203 kills away from 1,000 for her career.

With 37 assists at Georgia State Oct. 8, junior Kat Minnerly passed 2,000 for her career and has moved up to sixth on the school's list, 359 helpers shy of fifth. She has tallied 50-plus assists in a match nine times in her three seasons as an Eagle.

Avery Stephens collected career highs of 24 digs and seven assists in a 3-0 win over UL Monroe Oct. 17.

Coley has been named one of 30 candidates for the Senior Class Award for excellence, both on and off the court. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship in December.

The Eagles faced three top-20 teams and six opponents from Power-5 conferences in its 10 non-conference matches this season.
