- Georgia Southern faces The Citadel for the 50th time in series history on Thursday night inside Hanner Fieldhouse.
- Jelani Hewitt enters The Citadel game as the No. 1 ranked scorer in the Southern Conference with 20.2 ppg and ranks 23rd in scoring nationwide ... He scored 38 points earlier this season against Campbell and has twice been named SoCon Player of the Week ... He has scored in double figures 20 of 21 games this season and has gone over 20 points in scoring for 11 of the 21 games this year ... Hewitt became the 40th member of the 1,000 point club at GS with 18 against Wofford ... Hewitt now has 1,029 career points to rank 37th in scoring all-time at GS.
- Hewitt was also named SoCon Player of the Month for November 2013, averaging 24.5 ppg in the opening month of the season.
- Tre Bussey ranks second in scoring for the Eagles and fifth in the SoCon with 17.2 ppg ... He posted his second double-double of the season against Furman.
- Kyle Doyle returned from injury against Samford and scored a career-best 12 points while fouling out against the Bulldogs. The freshman forward went 3-for-5 from the field and 6-of-9 from the free throw line.
