Coley Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern volleyball junior Kym Coley has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week, the league announced today.
Coley was named all-tournament at the Jaguar Invitational last weekend as the Eagles went 3-0 and won the tournament. The middle added 12 kills and five blocks in a 3-0 setback at Troy Monday.
Coley is averaging 2.83 kills and 1.08 blocks per set while helping the Eagles to a 3-1 start to the season. She has 34 kills in 56 attempts with just three errors for a .554 hitting percentage in the four matches. A biology major, Coley carries a 4.0 grade point average.
The Eagles are back on the road this weekend as they travel to the Ole Miss Magnolia Invitational. Georgia Southern will play two matches Friday; the Eagles take on Arkansas State at 1:30 p.m. and Ole Miss at 7:30 p.m.
