Georgia Southern (0-0) – Coach: Tim Parks
Georgia Southern women's rifle begins its first year of competition under the direction of MSG Tim Parks. The women's rifle team, added as a part of the Eagles move to the FBS, is not the only new team in the athletic department. On Sept. 4 Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein announced the addition of women's golf, which will compete in 2015-16, as the newest sports team. The rifle team was officially certified to begin competition on August 22. The Eagles will use the shooting range behind the Recreation Activity Center on Register Road as their home facility until the Georgia Southern Shooting Sports Education Center, slated to open in the fall of 2014, is completed.
First Meet: The Eagles will compete for the first time as a team on Saturday at the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) CMP Clinic at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. The meet will be one of two meetings between Georgia Southern and Wofford on Sept. 14. The GSU football team will also face the Terriers at 7 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C. on that date.
