Pro Eagle Update: Shawn Payne Has Four-Hit Day

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Weekly Pro Eagle report will highlight the careers of former Georgia Southern baseball players in the professional ranks. Shawn Payne's four hit day highlights this week's update.
A.J. Battisto (New Orleans Zephyrs, Triple-A) – 0-0, 9.53 ERA, 7 SO
A.J. Battisto made two relief appearances last week and allowed four runs over 1.1 innings. Battisto had previously allowed just two runs over his previous 7.2 innings.
Chris Beck (Winston-Salem Dash, Class A Advanced) – 2-3, 1.45 ERA, 19 SO
The Chicago White Sox farm hand made two starts last week. Chris Beck went 0-2 in a home and home start against Lynchburg. In his first start on April 24th, Beck allowed just two earned runs, his first of the season, over six innings. In the second start, the righthander held Lynchburg to three runs on four hits and pitched into the seventh inning.
Jacob Brown (Stockton Ports, Class A Advanced) – 1-0, 3.12 ERA, 24 SO
Jacob Brown made a pair of relief appearances last week and combined to allow two runs over 4.1 innings. The Oakland Athletics farm hand opened his week with 2.2 scoreless frames at Visalia. In his second relief appearance, Brown surrendered two runs on four hits over 1.2 innings at High Desert.
Andy Moye (Huntsville Stars, Double-A) – 1-2, 4.56 ERA, 22 SO
The Milwaukee Brewers farm hand made two starts last week. Moye allowed three runs or less in both starts and has now allowed three runs or less in all but one start this season. In his first start at Birmingham, the righthander allowed two runs on four hits over five innings in a loss. Moye followed that up with a three-run five inning performance against Mississippi.
Shawn Payne (San Jose Giants, Class A Advanced) – .293, 1 HR, 5 RBIs, 9 SBs
Shawn Payne made six starts in the outfield for the San Jose Giants last week. After opening the week with an 0-for-6 against Modesto, Payne tallied a hit in his next four games. The San Fransico Giants farm hand tallied two hits and scored two runs in game two against Modesto. He opened a road trip at Modesto with two hits and a run scored on April 26th and tallied four hits and two runs in game two.
Victor Roache (Wiscon Timber Rattlers, Class A) – .276, 1 HR, 5 RBIs
The 2012 first round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers played in seven games last week. Roache doubled in game two against Quad Cities. He tallied a hit in all three games of the series and had a four-game hit streak snapped on April 26th. Roache posted a three-hit day on April 27th against West Michigan.
Everett Teaford (Omaha Storm Chasers, Triple-A) – 1-0, 2.89 ERA, 11 SO
Everett Teaford made one appearance last week and tossed 2.1 scoreless frames against Iowa. Teaford allowed four hits and two walks but struck out three batters in the relief appearance.
