Layup Line
¦ Georgia Southern caps the regular season with a 7 p.m. contest against Elon Monday in Hanner Fieldhouse on Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night.
¦ It's the second meeting of the season between Elon and Georgia Southern this season. The Phoenix prevailed 70-59 over the Eagles back on Jan. 28, in Alumni Gym.
¦ The Eagles are 3-2 in their last five and coming off a 67-53 win over UNCG Saturday. GSU is currently in eighth place in the league standings.
¦ An Eagle win or a Western Carolina loss tonight will give GSU the eighth seed in next week's SoCon Tournament in Asheville. A GSU loss and Western Carolina win over Davidson tonight will give the Eagles the ninth seed.
¦ Regardless of the seeding, Georgia Southern will play Western Carolina in the No. 8 vs. No 9 game at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, in Kimmel Arena.
¦ Georgia Southern is 4-7 at home this season and 4-5 in home league games.

¦ DuBose has led the Eagles in scoring in 16 contests this season and is now 163 points shy of 1,000 for her career.
¦ Meredyth Frye has led the Eagles in scoring and rebounding in each of the last two seasons. The senior scored 17 points at Wofford Feb. 23, to go over 1,000 for her career. She has scored in double figures in her last nine games.
¦ Anna Claire Knight is averaging 10.9 points and a team-high six rebounds a game. The sophomore has led the team in scoring five times and is 42 points away from 500 for her career.

¦ Elon is 4-10 on the road and 4-5 in road league games.
¦ Player of the Year candidate Ali Ford leads the Phoenix in scoring at 16.4 points a game and also averages 3.9 assists a contest.
