Knight Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern women's basketball junior Anna Claire Knight has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 18, the league announced today.
Knight helped the Eagles earn a 79-70 win over Wofford Monday night by scoring a team-high 19 points, grabbing three rebounds and handing out three assists in 32 minutes of action. She leads the Eagles in scoring and is third in the SoCon, averaging 15.5 points per contest, and has scored in double figures in her last eight games.
Knight, who holds a 3.84 grade point average in sports management, was named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll in her first two seasons at Georgia Southern and was named SoCon All-Academic as a sophomore.
The Eagles are back in action this weekend as they travel to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Hampton Inn Oceanfront Holiday Classic, hosted by North Florida. The Eagles will take on Eastern Illinois Friday at 1 p.m. before playing North Florida Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
