Q: Where are you working and what is your occupation?
PB: "I am working as a counselor at Vocational Rehabilitation in Charleston, South Carolina. I manage a case load of young adults who have different disabilities. My job is to help them gain employment skills and to assist them in finding employment."
Q: What are some of your fondest memories as an Eagle?
PB: "Now that I am older I would have to say practicing with the young ladies and traveling. I enjoyed the overall experience. I enjoyed it when I was there, but I appreciate it more now when I look back. We for the most part still stay in touch and bring each other up to speed on what is going on in our lives currently."
Q: How did the student-athlete experience prepare you for the rest of your life?
PB: "Everything I did as an athlete was preparation. Preparing for games was hard work. I look at practice as preparation for a day of work. I use the same approach when getting ready for the next day and dealing with the next client. The work ethic that you have as an athlete pretty much will dictate how you will be as an employee."
Q: How did you become a Georgia Southern Eagle?
"I really liked the coaches that were at Southern at that time. Jenni Milling and the assistant coach Gena Dechicko, but I ended up in Statesboro by default. My heart was set on going to the University of South Carolina but the timing was bad. They had one scholarship available and they were looking for a point guard. I was somewhat interested in Georgia but that didn't pan out. I didn't want to go far from home. That is how I ended up at Southern."
Q: How has Statesboro changed since your playing days?
"Just about everything has changed. Now that they have improved the gym and the practice floor the lady's get more practice time in the new gym. When I played we were in the old gym, which was outdated. They have a locker room with everything that they need there. The campus has grown. I am afraid to walk around, because I don't want to get lost."
