
Three Eagles Land on All-SoCon Team

Georgia Southern continues postseason on Friday
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern Men's Soccer earned three spots on the 2013 All-SoCon First Team and landed one player on the All-Freshman Team. Hunter Norton, Witt Carlisle and Reed Norton were picked to the first team while Jeremy Rector earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team.
Hunter Norton was picked to the All-SoCon Team for the third time in his career, finishing on the second team last season and on the first time in 2011 at midfielder. The senior captain ranks second on the team in scoring with five goals and has four assists to his name this season.
Witt Carlisle earned his first SoCon accolade as he wraps up his collegiate career this fall. Georgia Southern's leading scorer, Carlisle has seven goals and three assists including one tally against UNCG in the opening round of the SoCon Tournament last weekend.
Reed Norton picked up his first All-SoCon nod after being named to the All-Freshman team a year ago. The sophomore winger has one goal and three assist while helping the defense record four shutouts this season.
Also honored was freshman Jeremy Rector with a spot on the All-Freshman Team. The native of Duluth, Ga. had three goals and an assist to his name this season.
The Eagles continue play in the 2013 SoCon Tournament on Friday night against Elon. The 5:30 p.m. contest will be played at Furman's Stone Stadium in Greenville.
