
Swimming and Diving Brings Home Another Win

CHARLESTON, S.C.- Georgia Southern swimming and diving took to the pool for their second meet of the season last weekend at College of Charleston, where they competed against both College of Charleston and East Carolina University. The Eagles defeated Charleston 152 -147, but fell to ECU 121-173.
"We had our hands full today against two tough teams," said head coach Nathan Kellogg. "I'm very proud of how our team fought. It was a total team effort in the pool and on the boards. Our swimmers and divers did a terrific job of coming together and getting a win on the road against College of Charleston."
First place finishers for the Eagles included Amber Juncker (800m Free, 9:16.20), Christina Moran (200m Back, 2:20.39), Sara Meisenheler (1m Diving, 259.98), and Amanda Macchio (3m Diving, 270.25). Abbie Lavallin secured two second place finishes, the 100m Breast (1:13.70), and the 200m Breast (2:42.56). Christina Moran took third place in the 100m Back (1:05.63). Other third place finishes were earned by Megan Ostrom in the 100m Breast (1:15.47) and Amber Juncker in the 400m Free (4:32.00). In the 400m Free Relay, Megan Heller, Christina Moran, Devan White, and Elaina Lanson secured third place (4:03.20).
The Eagles head to North Carolina from November 21st-24th for the Wingate Fall Frenzy (swimming only) in Charlotte, and the Dowd Nike Cup (diving only) in Chapel Hill.
