STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving team (4-2) continues their 2013 campaign by hosting Darton College in a noon match-up at the Recreation Activity Center on Saturday, Jan. 12. The 13-event meet is the second of three home-meets for the Eagles this season.
"It's always great to compete at home and we're excited to compete again. We've been going at it pretty hard so we'll be tired. But we always tell our team that we can swim fast and dive well even when we're tired," said Head Coach Nathan Kellogg.
The Eagles are coming off a tough dual meet last week with a win against North Dakota (265-18) and losses against conference foes Liberty (127-170) and Florida Gulf Coast (56-243). The Eagles earned five top three finishes against last year’s CCSA Championships number one and two.
Amber Juncker finished second in the 500 Free (5:11.95) and third in the 1000 Free (10:35.73). The Eagles also received third places finishes from Kristen Bates in the 100 Breast (1:06.41), Elaina Lanson in the 50 Free (24.27) and Lauren Campbell in the 200 Fly (2:11.97).
Last year, in the teams’ first-ever meet, the Eagles came out on top, beating the Lady Cavaliers 195-65.
