Klein Wins Flight as Women's Tennis Completes Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - Jordana Klein won Flight 6 of the singles field to highlight Georgia Southern Women's Tennis' final day at the Auburn Invitational.
The sophomore transfer from Murray State, defeated Auburn's Lauren Levant 6-2, 6-0 in the championship match of the Eagles' first fall tournament of the year.
Georgia Southern had three other championship matches on the day. Klein also partnered with Natalie Maffett in the Flight 4 doubles championship match, falling to Houston's team of Celia Fraser and Liselot Koenen, 9-8 (3). Stephanie Woods reached the Flight 7 singles championship match but fell to Koenen 6-2, 6-0.
One other Eagle and two doubles teams battled back after dropping their opening round matches to finish seventh in the opening tournament. Paola Garrido defeated Chattanooga's Jenna Nurik 6-3, 7-5 for seventh place in the Flight 1 singles. Garrido also teamed with Alexis Prickett to finish seventh in the Flight 2 doubles. Jordana Klein and Stephanie Woods went on to finish seventh in the Flight 3 doubles after falling to Chattanooga's team of Jenna Nurik and Kelsey Coots.
The Women's Tennis team will return to action on October 12th through the 14th at the Clemson Duckworth Invitational.
