Three Eagles Advance to Title Matches at Auburn Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - Three members of the Georgia Southern Women's Tennis team advanced to their respective championship match of their flights Friday at the Auburn Invitational.
Transfer Jordana Klein highlighted the day's events, defeating Chattanooga's Katie Polk in the semifinals, 6-0, 6-0. Klein also knocked off Northwestern State's Amy Williams in her first round matchup 6-0, 6-2. The Murray State transfer will face Auburn's Lauren Levant in the finals tomorrow.
The Eagles also have members in the championship match of flight 7 and 8 singles. Fellow newcomer Stephanie Woods advanced to the semifinals after retiring Houston's Dionne Sanders 6-1, 2-1. Woods went on to defeat Kennesaw State's Isabela Castro 6-2, 6-1 to reach the championship round.
Also reaching the finals was Natalie Maffett, who advanced in the flight eight finals with a 6-4, 6-2 win over UL Lafeyette's Hannah Appleyard.
Women's Tennis continues the Auburn Invitational tomorrow at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
