Eagles Open Preseason Against Darton on Friday Evening

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern’s Men’s Soccer exhibition match against Georgia Military College has been cancelled. In place of that match, previously scheduled for Friday afternoon, the Eagles will face Darton College on Friday evening at 6:15 p.m. on Eagle Field.
Admission for Friday’s exhibition match is free with fans getting their first chance to see the 2012 Georgia Southern Eagles in action.
Last year GSU led the Southern Conference for much of the year behind SoCon Co-Player of the Year Luigi Clendining. This year the Eagles have four of their top five goalscorers back and First Team All-SoCon selection Hunter Norton returns as team captain for the 2012 campaign.
GSU is back on the pitch Monday afternoon for an exhibition match against Lander starting at 4 p.m. in the friendly confines of Eagle Field. The first regular season match comes on August 25th against No. 21 UAB.
