Lisa Jackson Joins Women's Basketball Staff

STATESBORO, Ga. - Former Presbyterian College assistant, Lisa Jackson joins the Georgia Southern Women's Basketball staff as an assistant coach under Head Coach Chris Vozab. Jackson served on Ronny Fisher's staff in Clinton, S.C. for two seasons and helped the Blue Hose to their most wins since the 2005-06 season.
Jackson will work with the perimeter players on the court and will serve as the recruiting coordinator. She was also be involved in scouting upcoming opponents and monitoring the student-athletes' academic progress.
"I am thrilled that Lisa Jackson is joining the Georgia Southern staff," said Vozab. "She brings great enthusiasm to all she does and will be a great role model for our players. On the court, Coach Jackson's energy level will motivate our players and push them to be their best. Lisa also brings valuable experience recruiting the Southeast and is skilled at building relationships with prospective student-athletes, their families and coaches."
After playing four seasons on the court, Jackson graduated from Erskine College in 2007 with a degree in sport management. During her playing career she earned second-team All-CVAC honors twice and was selected as a conference player of the week multiple times. Jackson scored over 1,300 career points in her career with the Flying Fleet.
She started her coaching career in 2007 with the Queens University Women's Basketball team and coached her alma mater's men's team in 2008-10 before joining the Presbyterian squad.
A Taylors, S.C. native, Jackson is the daughter of Margerite and Abel Jackson. She has a brother Abel Jackson III and a sister Sheree Jackson.
