Women's Basketball Coach Rusty Cram Resigns

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Director of Athletics Sam Baker has accepted the resignation of Women's Basketball coach Rusty Cram as announced today, Monday, March 5th. The 2011-2012 season was the 16th as head coach and 21st overall for Cram, who began his tenure in 1990 as an assistant coach for the Lady Eagles.
In 2009, Cram reached the 200-win milestone as head coach of the Lady Eagles after becoming the program's winningest coach in 2007. The two-time Southern Conference Coach of the Year guided Georgia Southern to two regular season titles and eight 15-win seasons, including two 20-win campaigns.
A national search to find a replacement will begin immediately.
