STATESBORO, Ga. – With only one meet to go before the CCSA Conference Championships, the Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving team travels to Davidson for a CCSA Duels meet on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Georgia Southern (6-3) lost to reigning conference champion Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fought hard, but were unable to come up with the win on Senior Day. However, the final meet of the season at the RAC did see a record breaking performance from sophomore Sara Meisenhelder (Carmel, Ind.). The sophomore broke school records in the one and three meter diving events.
The Eagles will look to build on Meisenhelder's performance, along with first-place finishes by Sarah Schwartz (Greenwood, S.C.) in the 200 Back (2:07.97) and Amber Juncker (Bogart, Ga.) in the 400 IM (4:39.78). GSU will try to add to their 14 top-three finishes from this past weekend, and get back to their winning ways.
In Saturday's Duels meet, the Eagles will face the host Wildcats, Campbell, Liberty, Howard, Radford and North Carolina A&T. Who are all looking for a win going into the CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships next month (Feb. 16-18).
