Georgia Southern's Meisenhelder Named CCSA Diver of the Week

Statesboro, Ga- Sophomore Sara Meisenhelder (Carmel, Ind.) was named Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Diver of the Week for meets completed Jan. 16-22, the league announced on Wednesday.
The Georgia Southern diver set new school records for in the 1-meter (263.25) and 3-meter (265.35) diving events. Sara’s dives against Florida Gulf Coast on Jan. 21 took first place, and broke GSU records which had stood for 14 and nine years.
Meisenhelder is the first Eagle to win CCSA Diver of the Week since she last won it in 2011.
"We are very proud of Sara and her performances against Florida Gulf Coast,” Said Head Coach Nate Kellogg. “To break both 1-meter and 3-meter school records that have stood for 14 years and nine years is very special. It has been a goal of hers since she arrived, and she has certainly worked for it."
Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving return to the water, Saturday Jan. 28 in a multi-team meet at Davidson.
