Georgia Southern Visits Georgia State and Charleston Southern

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Women's Soccer plays a pair of road matches this weekend against Georgia State (September 9th) and Charleston Southern (September 11th). The Eagles return to the pitch after taking the first win of the season against South Carolina State on Friday, September 2nd, by a 3-0 margin.
The Eagles (1-2-1) trail Georgia State in the all-time series, 5-9-2, and are in search of their first win since the 2001 season. Georgia Southern leads the all-time series over Charleston Southern 8-6-0 and took a 3-2 win over the Buccaneers last season.
Courtney Collins (Mason, Ohio) paces the Georgia Southern offense with three goals while Alex Murphy (Cincinnati, Ohio) has two goals in 2011. Senior Sara Oland (Evans, Ga.) has two assists after scoring nine goals a year ago.
Georgia State enters Friday's match with a 0-5-0 overall record. Sarah Bennett leads the Panthers with two goals including a penalty against Villanova.
Charleston Southern is 1-3-0 overall with a 4-0 win over USC Upstate in the Bucs last match. Aislinn McIlvenny leads the team with two of the team's three goals while Caroline Eriksson has the other tally.
Following the pair of road games, Georgia Southern returns home on Friday, September 16th, for a home match against USC Upstate. The Eagles face the Spartans starting at 4 p.m.
