MARIETTA, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Men's Tennis program produced the 25th-ranked recruiting class among mid-major programs for 2011 as announced by TennisRecruiting.net. The Eagles earned a top-25 spot for the first time in program history based on the signing of Kyle Hoffman, Andrew Dromsky and Carson Jones. The class included a pair of four-star recruits in Hoffman and Jones with Dromsky posting a two-star rating.
"This is an honor for our first recruiting class to earn the respect of a national committee," said Eagle Head Men's Tennis Coach Nick Zieziula. "We accomplished a lot of good things during our first season and we're looking forward to how our newcomers can contribute to the program."
Hoffman, a four-star recruit, was ranked 177th nationally according to TennisRecruiting.net. Carson Jones, who also earned a four-star ranking, follows in his father Craig's footsteps as the elder Jones played for the Eagles during the 1981 and 1982 seasons. Ranked 26th in the Georgia senior class and 22nd for U-18s by the United States Tennis Association, Dromsky earned a two-star ranking from TennisRecruiting.net.
In addition to the three young men listed in the nationally ranked recruiting class, Albert Codina Sala, ranked 192nd in the Spanish Men's National Open rankings, also joins Georgia Southern in the fall.
