STATESBORO, Ga. - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced its Scholar All-America teams for the fall 2010 semester and Georgia Southern' Swimming and Diving team has been included once again. The CSCAA ranks all NCAA Division I teams twice a year, once after each semester. Teams with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher receive the distinction of CSCAA Scholar All-America status for that semester. With the current Scholar All-America program in place since 2008, the Eagles have achieved CSCAA Scholar All-America status for all six semesters, including the most recent honor.
The Georgia Southern swimmers and divers accumulated an impressive 3.27 grade point average and as a team finished behind Notre Dame (3.3) and Harvard (3.28). This squad captured the Athletics Department award for highest women's team GPA for the 2009-2010 academic year.
"We are very proud of our swimmers and divers for the academic achievements this season," said Georgia Southern Head Swimming and Diving Coach Nate Kellogg. "Being named a CSCAA Scholar All-America team shows the level of commitment and dedication our young ladies have for their priorities and goals."
